Former senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani has reacted to the planned exit of retail giant, Shoprite Holdings Limited.
MERIDIAN SPY reported earlier the board of the retail company decided to pull out of Nigeria due to approaches from various potential investors as well as a re-evaluation of the Shoprite’s operating model in the country.
In his reaction on Twitter on Monday, Sen. Sani said the retail company’s departure from the Nigerian market will give local supermarkets in the country opportunity to grow.
“If Shoprite wants to stay, they can stay;if they want to go,they can go;it will help local supermarkets to grow,” he noted.
