A high-level meeting is set to take place in Jordan, bringing together foreign ministers from Arab states and international representatives to discuss the future of Syria.
Meanwhile, no Syrian representatives will be present at the meeting, which aims to explore ways to support the country as it navigates a transitional phase following the fall of Bashar al-Assad
The meeting, convened by the Jordanian Foreign Ministry, is expected to focus on finding ways to stabilize the country and ensure a smooth transition.
This comes after US President Joe Biden expressed support for the formation of a new government in Syria, determined by the Syrian people themselves.
The Jordanian Foreign Ministry stated that the objective is to explore ways to support the country during a transitional phase following the fall of longtime leader Bashar al-Assad.
The aim of talks is to guarantee an inclusive political process under Syrian leadership that involves all groups within the fragmented country.
According to Jordanian sources, the summit will be attended by the foreign ministers of Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Lebanon, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Qatar.
The Arab representatives are set to meet in the city of Aqaba with the foreign ministers of Turkey and the U.S., Hakan Fidan, and Antony Blinken, respectively.
