The United Nation (UN) office in Calabar, the Cross River State capital, was invaded by miscreants in the state.
The looters who invaded the UN office on Sunday vandalised and carted away property belonging to the global agency.
Edward Kallon, a UN resident and humanitarian coordinator in Nigeria, who disclosed this via his verified Twitter handle, appealed to the youths in the state to halt such illicit acts which is capable of undermining the legitimate demands of the ENDSARS protesters.
“The @UN_Nigeria strongly condemns attacks on its assets in #Calabar by vandals who were out to discredit the peaceful protests to end police brutality,” Kallon tweeted.
“I call on youths to exercise restraints and engage in dialogue with the Government on their legitimate demands. @WHONigeria.”
MERIDIAN SPY reported earlier President Muhammadu Buhari condemned the widespread looting and plundering of public and private property by hoodlums in the country.
The President urged families to turn back its members who returned home with unaccounted items while directing security agencies to nip such act in the bud.
