The All Progressives Congress has dismissed reports claiming that it withdrew the list of members of its 2027 presidential campaign council for review.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, described the reports as rumours, insisting that any decision to alter the campaign council would be formally announced.
Reports had emerged that the list was being reviewed following concerns over the inclusion and omission of some party members. However, Morka said there was no basis for claims that the list had been withdrawn.
The APC had earlier unveiled the campaign council with President Bola Tinubu as chairman and Vice-President Kashim Shettima and the party’s National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, as vice-chairmen.
Former Zamfara State Governor, Abdulaziz Yari, was named Director-General of the council, while Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma was appointed secretary.
The composition of the council has generated reactions within and outside the party, particularly over the inclusion of some serving public officials and individuals facing corruption allegations.
