A 200-level Mechanical Engineering student of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State, has designed and manufactured a “manual ventilator” in 2 days to aid in the treatment of coronavirus patients.

20-year-old Usman Dalhatu, from Gombe State, who has reportedly been an inventor since secondary school, made the manual ventilator with locally sourced materials.

He said assisting the Federal Government to fight the coronavirus pandemic made him took to such venture to design the manual ventilator.

Many have taken to social media to hail Usman for his invention, as a video showing him explaining how to use the ventilator goes viral.
