According to the Nigerian government, Iroegbu died in Sunnyside, Pretoria, in an incident involving officers of the Tshwane Metro Police, while Joe, popularly known as “Big Joe,” was reportedly killed by unidentified gunmen in front of his shop in Witbank, Mpumalanga.
