Kano State Government confirmed one new coronavirus-related death in the state, taking the death toll to 36.
The state Ministry of Health announced via Twitter late night Sunday the death of the patient but gave no details about the deceased.
18 patients also recovered from the virus and have been discharged, bringing the total to 111.
However, 64 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the state, taking the tally of total infections in the state to 825 while active cases now stand at 678.
The health ministry tweeted: “COVID19KN Update as at 11:15pm 17th May, 2020.
“@KanostateNg confirms additional 64 positive cases, 18 patients successfully discharged and 1 death of #COVID19Kano.”
