El-Rufai to Kaduna Governor: You Can’t Fight Me With N150bn FG Gave You
Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has hit back at his successor, Governor Uba Sani, following the latter’s denial of any rift between them.
In a cryptic post on his X page Tuesday, El-Rufai referenced a Sherlock Holmes quote, implying that recent political developments in the state had uncovered the real truth behind Governor Sani’s public statements.
“When you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, is the truth,” El-Rufai wrote.
The former governor appeared to mock Sani’s frequent public declarations, describing them as “embarrassingly and sycophantically rambling.”
He also alleged that President Bola Tinubu’s administration had selectively disbursed over N150 billion to Kaduna State in the past 18 months, indirectly suggesting that Governor Sani’s stance was influenced by federal backing.
El-Rufai further hinted at an eventual political reckoning, stating:
“The people of Kaduna State will judge at the right time and place.”
His response comes after Governor Uba Sani, during a TVC news interview, dismissed reports of a strained relationship between them, insisting that his focus remained on moving the state forward.
However, tensions between both leaders have been brewing since the Kaduna State House of Assembly accused El-Rufai’s administration of mismanaging N423 billion in state funds—a claim El-Rufai swiftly denied.
Governor Sani had also previously lamented that he inherited a huge debt profile from his predecessor.
With El-Rufai’s latest remarks, the rift between the duo is far from over.
