Ex-students of Unity Secondary School, Ishiagu, Ebonyi State, reunited exactly 18 years since their graduation.The 2006 graduating set, under the aegis of USSI Class 06 Alumni Association, held their reunion at Main Point Resort, Mile Two, Ivo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, on January 1, 2025.
The gathering, a first since their departure from the institution, featured an introductory session, brainstorming discussions, refreshments, and a group dance session.
In his remarks, the group’s president, Comr. Sunny Ibeh Jnr, expressed joy at the reunion’s success. He described it as a significant step toward building a stronger bond among the alumni.
“From 2001 to 2006, we learned, grew, and built our characters under the USSI motto: Unity in character and learning. After graduation, we dispersed across Nigeria, Africa, and beyond, pursuing education, business, and crafts. Now, 18 years later, we have achieved remarkable progress in various fields.
This marks the beginning of a new era of collaboration and growth. Together, we will achieve greatness and make Unity Secondary School proud,” he said.
Notable attendees included Nwankwo Chidiebere, Michael Nwanga, Nwegede Chika, Iroha Ebere, Ajala Emmanuel, Madu Chimeruo, Priscilla Simeon, Okafor Christian Onyebuchi, Chijioke Magnus Obasi, Kelechukwu Ndubuisi, Maduka Nkwachukwu, Ekechi Nicholas, Njoku Simeon, Obasi Onuwa, and Okon Lawrence, among others.
The alumni extended support to the families and children of deceased members such as Ajah Ugwute, Ikpeanyi Matthias, Iroha Nneka, Ukpabi Maureen, and others in need.
Today, the USSI Class 06 Alumni Association boasts a diverse group of professionals, entrepreneurs, thought leaders and distinguished individuals excelling in their respective fields, continuing to uphold the legacy of their alma mater.
