Senator Godswill Akpabio, a former Governor of Akwa Ibom and prominent Nigerian politician, is a testament to the intriguing interplay between destiny and nomenclature.

The recent race for the Senate Presidency revealed another chapter in Akpabio’s political odyssey. Despite facing a formidable gang-up, he emerged victorious, securing the prestigious position of the 10th Senate President.
He defeated his main rival, Senator Abdulazeez Yari, in a keenly-contested election on the floor of the Red Chamber, on Tuesday.
Akpabio, the immediate-past Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, scored 63 votes against Yari, who got 46 votes.
