Dennis Idahosa, a lawmaker representing Ovia North Federal Constituency of Edo State has donated palliative to student community in the state.
Idahosa made the donation on Monday in Benin City, stating that it was meant to cushion the harsh effects of the COVID-19 lockdown directive on students in the state.
The palliative was donated through student leaders in the state to students of their respective institutions.
Among the student leaders who received the palliative were; University of Benin Students Union President, Comr Egwu Benjamin Lotana, President, School of Health, Comr King Omorefe, President, Ambrose Ali University (AAU) Comr Osamagbe Eghobamien, President, Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, Comr Tribunal, Edo State Polytechnic, Usen, Mike Otamere Friday, President National Association of Edo Student (NAES), Comr Ogbeifun Samuel, Treasurer, National Association of Nigeria Students, NANS zone B, Comr Pius Effiam, Diretor of Sports, NANS zone B, Comr Imafidon Stephen.
Speaking shortly after the event, Bright Negbenehi Okoebor, a student leader who was also present at the event, thanked the honourable lawmaker for the gesture.
Okoebor said the Reps member was the first politician in the state to show the students community such unique gesture of love in the COVID-19 lockdown period, adding that other politicians in the state should emulate him in prioritizing the interest of students in the state.
