The Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LUTH announced a 37-year-old woman diagnosed with coronavirus disease was successfully delivered of a baby boy in the hospital.
Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee of LUTH, Wasiu Adeyemo made the disclosure to newsmen on Tuesday, stating that the baby was delivered via a caesarean section on Saturday, May 9.
“A team of LUTH doctors, anaesthetists and nurses delivered another woman diagnosed with COVID-19 of a baby boy (birth weight: 2.6kg),” Wasiu said.
“The 37-year-old mother was delivered of the baby via caesarean section on Saturday, 9th May, 2020.
“Our gratitude goes to these gallant men and women and all warriors making d nation proud in d face of this scourge.
“We celebrate our committed frontline staff for this achievement.”
Recall Meridian Spy reported two weeks ago a 40-year-old woman diagnosed with coronavirus disease delivered of a baby girl at the same LUTH.
“A team of LUTH Drs, anaesthetists & nurses delivered a woman with Covid19 of a baby girl this afternoon 40yr old mother & 3.3kg baby are doing fine,” the hospital management tweeted.
“Our gratitude go to these gallant men & women & all warriors making d nation proud in d face of this scourge.”
