The Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA said the coronavirus results of those who attended the Late Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari’s burial returned negative.
Kyari died of complications from COVID-19 on Friday April 17 and was buried the next day, with many attendees at the funeral clearly breaching the social distancing guidelines issued by the government to curb the spread of COVID-19.
Following outrage by Nigerians on social media over the event, the acting secretary, health and human services secretariat at the FCTA, Mohammed Kawu announced, via his Twitter handle, that all those who were not properly kitted at the burial would be isolated.
However, yesterday Sunday, Kawu took to Twitter again to announce that all those identified and isolated tested negative and have been reunited with their families.
He tweeted: “The FCT Health & Human Services Secretariat is happy to announce that the individuals exposed during the burial of late COS to the President have completed their 14days of isolation. Tests were conducted and they have all tested NEGATIVE to #COVID19.”
