British Prime Minister and his fiancee, Carrie Symonds have welcomed the arrival of a baby boy.
This comes weeks after the Prime Minister was discharged from hospital after a life-threatening battle against the deadly coronavirus disease.
A spokeswoman for Johnson and his partner said both mother and baby are “doing very well” after the birth at an NHS hospital on Wednesday morning.
“The Prime Minister and Ms Symonds are thrilled to announce the birth of a healthy baby boy at a London hospital earlier this morning. Both mother and baby are doing very well.
“The PM and Ms Symonds would like to thank the fantastic NHS maternity team,” the spokeswoman said.
BBC reports that the Prime Minister, who has just recovered from coronavirus, was present throughout the birth in the hospital.
Boris Johnson and Carrie Symonds have been dating since he split from his wife Marina back in 2018. They got engaged earlier this year and announced in February 2020 that they are expecting a baby.
The child, welcomed today, is thought to be Boris Johnson’s 6th child. He has four kids from his marriage to high-flying barrister Marina Wheeler. They are Lara Lettice, Cassia Peaches, Milo Arthur, Theodore Apollo.
His fifth child is with a former mistress.
Following the birth of the new born baby boy, the couple have received messages of congratulation from across the political spectrum, and Mr Johnson’s father Stanley said he was “absolutely delighted” and “thrilled” by the birth of his grandson.
