Medics and experts in medical sciences have maintained that the disclosure of patient’s identify in the face of pandemic like coronavirus is an act unknown to medical practice, unless such disclosures are made by the patients themselves.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Friday announced two confirmed cases of coronavirus in Enugu State without revealing the identities of infected persons as usual – with regards to the above medical argument.
However, investigation by MERIDIAN SPY, has uncovered the infected persons with the COVID-19 virus in Enugu State.
A source close to the Enugu state government disclosed the identities of the infected persons in the state to MERIDIAN SPY a few days after NCDC made the disclosure about the cases in Enugu.
According to him, Buhari’s minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Godfrey Onyema and his personal aide, whose name was not given, are the two confirmed coronavirus cases in the state.
Onyema, we gathered, left Abuja for Enugu alongside his personal aide, who also tested positive for the virus, as a result of the lackluster attitude with which treatments are handled in the city.
Upon confirmation of his status as positive, a quick agreement was made to keep it from the general public.
Mr Onyema is not alone in this as a number of public officials in Nigeria who have tested positive for the virus had refused making their status public.
Buhari’s chief of staff, Mr Abba Kyari, only ‘personally’ confirmed that he tested positive for the pandemic yesterday, days after his status for the pandemic went viral.
Recall in the UK, Prime minister Boris Johnson, via a short video and an official statement on his verified Twitter handle declared his status after testing positive for the virus, to his people.
Prince Charles, heir apparent to the British throne also declared his status after testing positive for COVID-19 pandemic.
