Nigerian Afropop singer and songwriter, Yemi Alade expressed her disappointment over the rising cost of food, hand sanitisers and face masks as the country gears up for a partial lock down over coronavirus pandemic.

The 31-year-old female singer, in a post on Thursday noted her displeasure over the hike in prices of such essentials in pharmacies and stores without the Nigerian government taking measures to keep the prices low so that everyone can afford it.

The singer wrote: “The prices of hand sanitisers, face masks and food are all going up, but there is no one from the (Nigerian) government enforcing the pharmacies and stores to make sure that all these prices stay same so everyone can afford it.”
