The deposed emir of Kano, Sanusi Muhammad Sanusi, has said he is moving on and not willing to go back to the throne of the Kano Emirate.
Speaking in a viral video on social media, Sanusi revealed that his dethronement could be difficult for him, but is not an issue as he has no reason to be sad or depressed. “I could have done what i could in six years.” He added.
The deposed also said that his removal was unfair but he was moving on to a new phase of life.
He said, “I have done what I could in six years, I’m moving on. I don’t want to go back. The truth is, if I had wanted to go back, the dethronement letter was so badly written, it was not done professionally. The easiest thing is just to go to court.
“It’s simple, fair hearing, ‘did you query him? Did you ask him to defend himself? Did you even call him to ask him any question?’ That’s all but I think we should go on to a new phase in life.”
It should be recalled that Sanusi was dethroned on Monday by the Kano State governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, on the grounds of insurbodination. He was taken to confinement to Loko and then to Awe Community in Nasarawa State before an Abuja High Court granted his release. He arrived Lagos on Friday.
