The Cameroon Health Ministry has confirmed its first case of coronavirus in the country.

The case involves a 58-year-old French citizen who flew into the capital Yaounde on the 24th of February.

The health ministry confirms the patient is being quarantined while measures are being taken by the government to contain potential risks of the virus spreading.

Cameroon joins the list of African countries to record cases of the deadly coronavirus.
