The meeting held on Monday in Abuja between the Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, to find a way to ending the ongoing ASSU strike ended in deadlock after several hours of deliberation.

The ASUU team to the meeting was led by its President,Biodun Ogunbiyi while the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, were the ones on the government side, MERIDIAN SPY had reliably gathered.

The parties in the meeting however agreed to end the meeting yesterday to continue today.

Mallam Adamu had earlier announced that the meeting was only between the ASUU delegation and himself, asking all others present to excuse them pending the time they round off.

Recall , the Federal Government had also met last week with the apex university staff body – a meeting which ended without palatable resolutions to the effect of meeting ASUU’s demand.
