Tinubu who was represented by Vice-President Kashim Shettima, gave the tribute at an event held in Abuja on Thursday to celebrate Fayemi’s 60th birthday and the official launch of the Amandla Institute for Policy and Leadership Advancement.
The event also witnessed the launch of the Amandla Institute for Policy and Leadership Advancement in Abuja.
Tinubu praised Fayemi’s vision, highlighting that the Amandla Institute is designed to bridge the gap between ideas and action.
He noted that the institute’s focus on policy reports, high-level dialogues, leadership salons, and training programs will empower leaders to translate their ideas into tangible progress.
Bukola Saraki, former senate president, and Atiku Abubakar, ex-vice-president, were among many personalities who graced a symposium to commemorate the 60th birthday of Kayode Fayemi, the former governor of Ekiti state.
Also, former South African President Thabo Mbeki delivered the keynote address at the symposium.
Other dignitaries at the event included Amina Mohammed, the UN deputy secretary-general, Abiodun Oyebanji, governor of Ekiti state, Bisi Akande, former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC); Yakubu Gowon, the former military head of state; Opeyemi Bamidele, the senate leader; and Niyi Adebayo, former governor of Ekiti, among others.
Among the traditional rulers who graced the event were Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, and Muhammadu Sanusi II, the Emir of Kano.
