Senate Reviews Tinubu’s N4.5trn Budget Hike

‎President Bola Tinubu has requested the Senate to increase the 2025 budget from N49.7 trillion to N54.2 trillion, a N4.5 trillion hike.

‎Senate President Godswill Akpabio read the request during Wednesday’s plenary, citing additional revenues from:

‎N1.4 trillion (Federal Inland Revenue Service)

‎

‎N1.2 trillion (Nigeria Customs Service)

‎

‎N1.8 trillion (Other government agencies)

‎The proposal has been referred to the Senate Committee on Finance and Appropriations for urgent review. Akpabio assured that the budget deliberation will be concluded before the end of February.
