US offers Higher Education Support for Nigerian Low Income Earner
The Public Diplomacy Section at the United States Embassy in Abuja, Nigeria, is announcing an open competition for organizations to apply for a project aimed at promoting U.S. higher education opportunities for high-achieving, low-income Nigerian students at the graduate and undergraduate levels. The focus is on standard advising centers and supporting students through financial assistance for the application process.
The implementing partner will work closely with the Education Specialists of the Public Diplomacy Section in Abuja and Lagos to support the 2025-26 Education Advising Program in Nigeria, including the Education USA Opportunity Funds Program. The partner will also assist Standard Advising Centers in Calabar, Jos, Ibadan, and Kano.
This program aims to assist 40 high-achieving, low-income Nigerian students who are likely to receive full financial aid from U.S. colleges and universities but lack the resources to cover necessary costs such as standardized test fees, application fees, airfare, visa fees, SEVIS fees, and settling-in expenses. The implementing partner will collaborate with the Education USA network in Abuja and Lagos to achieve these goals as directed by the Country Education Specialist during the performance period.
