Activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju has disclosed that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has not released the phone and car of popular social media critic, VeryDarkMan, despite his release on bail.
VeryDarkMan was released from EFCC custody on Wednesday after being arrested last Friday.
According to the activist, the EFCC suspected him of involvement in money laundering, which led to his detention.
Providing an update, Adeyanju explained that while his client has regained freedom, his personal items remain in the custody of the commission.
“Despite everything that has happened, I still like the EFCC Chairman. And there was no condition for VDM’s bail. I was the one who applied for his bail, and I made an undertaking to produce him anytime he is needed. His phone and car are still with EFCC,” he said.
VeryDarkMan’s arrest followed his visit to GTBank with his mother to complain about an alleged deduction from her account.
