Eid al-Fitr: Ribadu Seeks Public Cooperation to Tackle Security Threats
The National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, has called for enhanced cooperation between citizens and security agencies to combat terrorism and other threats to Nigeria’s national security.
Ribadu made this appeal in a statement issued on Sunday, to felicitate with Muslims on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr.
In the statement, the NSA extended warm greetings to Muslims across the country and beyond, emphasizing the significance of Eid-el-Fitr as a time of resilience, discipline, and sacrifice.
He urged Nigerians to embody these values in their collective efforts to strengthen national security.
“Your cooperation in the fight against terrorism and other threats remains vital in ensuring peace and stability across our Nation, particularly in our commitment to a ‘whole-of-government and whole-of-society approach,’” Ribadu said.
He stressed the importance of collaboration between the government, religious leaders, communities, and security agencies in tackling the menace of terrorism and violent extremism.
While celebrating the end of the holy month of Ramadan, the NSA highlighted the need for deep reflection, gratitude, and a renewed commitment to peace and national unity.
He urged Nigerians to uphold the virtues of empathy, kindness, and tolerance during and beyond the festivities.
Ribadu also emphasized the significance of national vigilance, warning against forces that seek to disrupt the country’s peace.
“Our diversity is our strength, and despite the challenges we face as a Nation, we remain united by a shared commitment to peace and stability,” he said.
Reaffirming the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s dedication to national security, Ribadu assured Nigerians that his office remains steadfast in enhancing the country’s resilience against terrorism and extremism.
