The political scene in Kano State is heating up as Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, the sacked Secretary to the State Government, has threatened to drop what he calls “explosive evidence” against Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and his godfather, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
Speaking for the first time since his removal in December 2024, Bichi did not hold back.
Addressing his supporters on Thursday after returning from Saudi Arabia, he accused Yusuf and Kwankwaso of being deceitful and untrustworthy leaders.
“I’m happy I left the office in peace, but let me be clear: this is not the best time to talk. At the right time, we will expose them.
“I have documents, videos, and voice notes that will show everyone who they really are,” Bichi threatens.
The former SSG’s fallout with the governor and Kwankwaso became public when he was suspended from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) for allegedly leading a movement to break Yusuf away from Kwankwaso’s control.
Describing the two leaders as “masters of betrayal,” Bichi said his evidence will reveal the inner workings of their relationship.
“They don’t know anything except treachery. They can’t be trusted,” he added.
This development has sparked intense speculation among political observers and residents of Kano.
Many are waiting to see if Bichi will follow through with his threats and how it could shake up Kano’s political landscape.
