The Nigeria Police Force has reiterated that it is illegal to use tint on vehicles in the country, emphasizing that there is a law backing the prohibition.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, stated this on Saturday while responding to a post by an X user.
According to Adejobi, the NPF only suspended the enforcement of the ban on tint because the permit was put on hold for issuance.
He wrote, “There is a ban on it. It’s even a legal matter because there is a law on it. The police only suspended the enforcement of the law because we had suspended the issuance of the tint permit.
“The police may be discretional about it, to ascertain whether the vehicle is being used for criminal activities or not. The use of tint on vehicles in Nigeria is an offense, and many have abused it.”
