The summit, themed: “Building a Just World and a Sustainable Planet,” focuses on three dimensions of sustainable development: economic, social, and environmental, as well as the reform of global governance.
Permanent G20 Membership
Tinubu’s attendance will unlock Nigeria’s aspiration for permanent membership in the G20. It highlights the country’s commitment to active participation in global development and governance reforms, enhancing its chances of securing a permanent seat at the table.
Diplomatic Engagement

Global Discussions on Hunger and Poverty
Nigeria will actively participate in discussions addressing global challenges such as hunger, poverty, and climate change. This involvement enables Nigeria to share its perspectives and attract international support for its domestic initiatives in these areas.
Digital Economy and Climate Advocacy
The summit offers Nigeria an opportunity to showcase its efforts in digital economy development and advocate for global action against rising temperatures. These discussions could lead to collaborations and investments that bolster Nigeria’s economic and environmental goals.
Through this engagement, Nigeria aims to position itself as a significant voice in global governance and sustainable development efforts.
