The warning is contained in a statement on Wednesday in Kano by Mr Musbahu Lawan-Kofar Nasarawa, the command’s Public Relations Officer.

“The attention of the Service has been drawn to activities of some filmmakers who use the Service uniforms, insignia and accoutrements in their films without due permission from the Service.
“The Service vehemently condemns these malicious acts which are deliberately targeted at smearing the image of the Service, and discrediting the good work been done to ensure the safety in custody of the legally interned and ensuring that they are properly rehabilitated, reformed, and empowered to return back to their community as useful citizens,” he said.
He advised filmmakers and other persons who wish to feature any aspect of the Service in their movies to seek approval from the Service before producing such movies.
“The Service is open to collaborations with filmmakers as well as other stakeholders in the film industry and media in ensuring that the image of the Service is protected and projected” he added
