Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has said efforts have been intensified at ending the current petrol shortage in Lagos and its environs.
A statement by the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of the firm, Olufemi Soneye, said the retail arm of NNPC Limited has resolved the issue, saying normalcy would be restored within the affected area.
His words: “NNPC Limited wishes to inform the general public that the tightness in Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) supply witnessed in some filling stations in Lagos was a result of an issue in one of the depots in the area.
“NNPC Retail Limited, our retail arm, has since resolved the issue and effective tomorrow, normalcy will be restored within the affected area.
“The NNPC Limited calls on motorists in Lagos to avoid panic buying of PMS as all hands are on deck to sustain sufficiency in the supply of petroleum products in the area.”
However, checks by Sunday Vanguard, yesterday, indicated that lifting was ongoing at many depots while filling stations with commercial stocks were open to motorists and other users.
