The Upper Sharia Court 1 sitting in GRA, Zaria, Kaduna State, has ordered Hon Sani Sha’aban, a former Kaduna State gubernatorial candidate under the All Progressives Congress (APC), to repay loans of $709,238 and N11.2 million to one Alhaji Umar Faruk Abdullahi.
The Khadi, Alhaji Ishaq Madahu, while delivering his judgment, also ordered the confiscation of the property of Hon Sha’aban which were used as collateral for the loans.

Furthermore, the court ordered for the immediate search for buyers of the attached property to liquidate the loans, emphasising that in the event the values of the attached property exceeded the loan amount, the balance should be returned to the respondent (Sha’aban).
The court also ordered that Sha’aban should provide a balance if the values of the property were not up to the loan amounts.
Counsel to the plaintiff, Kabir Momoh, expressed satisfaction with the judgment, while counsel to the defendant, Nasir Sa’id, said he was not briefed by his client to speak to the press on the matter.
It would be recalled that a loan agreement was signed in 2018 by Hon Sani Mahmud Sha’aban (Dan Buran Zazzau) and Alhaji Umar Faruk Abdullahi to secure his release from a problem he had in Dubai (UAE) in the same year.
