The National chairman of the ruling All progressives Congress (APC), Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has said that President Tinubu already approved party blue-print for political liberation of South-east to the APC.
Speaking Wednesday when he received party stalwarts from Anambra state at the APC national secretariat in Abuja, Ganduje assured them that comes 2025, Anambra will become APC state.
Ganduje said it would be in the best interest of the South-east geo-political zone pushing to produce an occupant of the exalted seat of the presidency to join the APC fold.
The former Kano governor said the party would test its popularity with the citizenry in the South-east geo-political zone with the 2025 Anambra state governorship poll.
“I will like to let you know that Mr President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved our blueprint for political liberation of South-east to the APC, he has approved the political emancipation, he has approved the political de-marginalisation of the South-east.
“Be with one voice because if you speak with one voice, your voice will be bigger, wider for the negotiation for the political leadership of this country. We need you to be united and deliberately the party in Anambra state we need a change, revolution of South-east”
The Imo state Governor and chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF), Sen Uzodinma who was at the party secretariat also re-echoed the position of Ganduje saying: “It is important that APC as a political party to become the vehicle for the South-east region to be fully integrated into the national project, that is the Nigerian project so we are determined in our region to be part and parcel of the Nigerian politics.
“Consistent to that we are going to do our best to make sure that the five states in the South-eastern region are dominated by APC by endearing our party to the people of the South-east region.”
The Chairman of the Anambra state chapter, Sir Basil Ejidike expressed optimism that the APC would upstage the APGA led administration in Anambra state.
He however called for the review of the reward system for party supporters in the state.
According to him: “It is public knowledge in Anambra State that most of those who have made and are still making heavy sacrifices for the party have not been adequately rewarded and appreciated.
“Many of those who have gotten juicy Federal Government appointments in the past were mainly non-party members.
“Those so appointed, owe the Party no loyalty and allegiance. Most times, they even work at cross- purposes with the Party, thus diminishing our fortunes.
“This trend has not in any way served as a source of inspiration or motivation to Party members, who are working hard to maintain and sustain the Party in a hostile environment like ours.”
