A ministerial nominee from Kaduna state, Balarabe Abbas, has collapsed during his screening on the floor of the Senate.
He collapsed when he was about to be quizzed by the lawmakers on Wednesday afternoon.
Abbas was nominated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu after former Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-rufai, withdrew from the nomination over the reluctance of the Senate to confirm him.
Abbas who served as the Secretary to the State Government in Kaduna, had just finished introducing himself and was about to answer questions when he lost consciousness and fell to the ground.
The Senators had to rush to his rescue and call for help.
The Senate went into a closed-door session immediately the nominee was rushed out for medical attention.
