Protest in Zamfara Varsity Over Kidnapping of 7 Students in Three Week

Students of Federal University Gusau have blocked Gusau to Zaria road to protest the kidnapping of about five of their colleagues, on Friday night.

The students were abducted at Damba, an off-campus community close to the school, Politics Digest gathered.

It would be recalled that three weeks ago, two students were also kidnapped and N10 million ransom was requested for their release, by their abductors.

The students are calling on the authorities to secure their colleagues’ release, as the university has fixed the 19th of June to commence its first semester examination.

The Dean, Student Affairs of the University, Lawal Saad, could not be reached for comment over the matter, as he didn’t pick the call of our reporter at the time of writing this report.
