The Champions League clash between Real Madrid and Chelsea at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
Real Madrid are in mixed spirits: they proved how capable they still are by thrashing Barcelona 4-0 in the Copa del Rey but then were brought back down to earth on this very stadium with a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Villarreal.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side know that the Champions League is their main priority once again, and nobody would bet against them to win yet another European Cup.
But if Real Madrid think they have problems, then they needn’t look further than their opponents. Chelsea have recently sacked head coach Graham Potter and now have Frank Lampard in temporary charge.
They enter the game on the back of a 1-0 defeat to strugglers Wolves, and will not be in good spirits heading into this clash.
Ferland Mendy is the only player that Real Madrid will definitely be without through injury, which is good news for Ancelotti.
He rested plenty of players at the weekend against Villarreal too, such as Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Eder Militao and Eduardo Camavinga. They could all be in line to start here.
