The Edo State government has announced the discharge of the index coronavirus patient in the state, after testing negative twice for the disease.
The state governor, Godwin Obaseki, made the announcement on Monday via its verified Twitter handle.
This brings the tally of total discharged COVID-19 patients in the state to seven.
Obaseki tweeted: “The index #COVID_19 case in #EdoState has tested negative for the 2nd time and has now been discharged to go home.
“This brings to 7 the no. of patients successfully managed and discharged in Edo, with 50% recovery rate of 14 admitted cases. Please, stay safe. #EdoCares.”
The governor had, yesterday Sunday, announced the imposition of dusk to dawn curfew in the state between the hours of 7pm and 6am daily effective from today, Monday April 20, to help curb the spread of the pandemic.
“At today’s press briefing, I announced the imposition of a dusk to dawn curfew, between 7pm and 6am daily in #EdoState, effective from April 20, 2020 to help curb the spread of #coronavirus, the governor tweeted.
