The Edo State government has reduced number of people in public gatherings to 20 following the rise of confirmed cases of coronavirus in the country.
Godwin Obaseki, Edo State governor, said this in a press briefing for the Covid-19 pandemic on Tuesday in Benin.
According to the governor, markets are to be shut down with exception to traders selling essentials commodities like food and medicines.
Mr Obaseki said the government would commence mass production of hand sanitisers in collaboration with the specialist teaching hospital (ISTH) in the state.
The governor also directed law enforcement agencies to enforce compliance accordingly.
