The National Industrial Court made an order to the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading NBET to pay her staff, Sambo Abdullahi, his salaries and other emoluments from the 22nd of December, 2017, till date.
Abdullahi had queried the alleged fraudulent transactions at NBET by Marilyn Amobi, managing director of NBET together with another staff, Waziri Bintube.
Following this, it was reported that Abdullahi was redeployed to another department while his salaries were reportedly withheld from December 2017.
The Industrial Court Judge, Justice Oyejoju Oyewunmi, delivering the judgement on Wednesday in Abuja, said the suspension of Abdullahi in 2017 was unlawful while condemning NBET’s refusal to allow him enjoy his annual leave.
She ordered the company to pay Abdullahi all salaries owed to him with immediate effect adding that failure to pay him within 30 days would attract 21% of the accrued salary and other emoluments per annum.
