Supper Eagles star, John Mikel Obi has announced his retirement from international football, MERIDIAN SPY reports. 

Mikel, 32, retired after Super Eagles clinched the bronze, third place title , on Wednesday after defeating Tunisia 1 goal to nil at the ongoing African Cup of Nations, AFCON 2019 in Egypt. 

In a post on his verified Instagram handle, the Chelsea star said, “At the age of 32 it’s time for me to retire from the National team and let the youth take over, who’ve done an amazing job securing a bronze medal at AFCON 2019.”
