The presidential candidate of the Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN), Fela Durotoye says he is ready to step down for a possible pact that would oust the the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the February 16 presidential election.
Mr Durotoye said this on Thursday a few hours after the withdrawal of the presidential candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN), Oby Ezekwesili on his verified twitter handle.
Durotoye, while commending Dr Ezekwesili for her sheer courage and sacrifice for a new Nigeria, said he had always believed in leadership of sacrifice, and that he was ready to align with the likes of Omoyele Sowore of the African Action Congress (AAC) and Prof. Kingsley Moghalu of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) who are fellow young generation presidential candidates, to form a coalition that would defeat both the APC and PDP.
“To ensure that an alliance is formed and we present a united front, I AM READY to come into any coalition talks with my brothers Omoyele Sowore @yelesho and Prof. Kingsley Moghalu @moghalukingsley and to submit myself to any transparent process that will help us arrive at a selection of a Consensus Candidate from amongst us,” he said.
