The Bauchi State Police Command has warned young people in the state against engaging in political thuggery, cybercrime and other forms of criminality.

The command urged youths to reject activities capable of threatening peace and security in their communities and instead pursue legitimate opportunities that can contribute to their personal development and the growth of society.

The warning comes amid concerns over the involvement of young people in crimes including political violence, cybercrime and other social vices.

The police stressed the need for parents, community leaders and other stakeholders to work together in guiding youths away from criminal activities.

The command also encouraged young people to make productive use of their time by acquiring skills, pursuing education and engaging in lawful businesses rather than turning to crime.

The police reiterated their commitment to maintaining peace and protecting residents across Bauchi State, while warning that individuals involved in criminal activities would be dealt with according to the law.

The command further called on residents to provide useful information that could assist security agencies in preventing crime and maintaining public safety.

The police urged youths to become positive contributors to their communities and avoid actions that could jeopardise their future or undermine peace in the state.
